about

ELECTRONHIC is a dynamic mix driven by Chapman Stick and Drums, with comments, noise, saxophones, theremin, guitars, and the Great Bass Recorder.

ELECTRONHIC started with a directive to keep still and leave space. The music was allowed to present itself and breathe without being forced. Motion gradually crept in and flourished with rhythms and energetic counterpoint, but plenty of open space remained. Space is especially evident in the exploratory opener EN and the moody GBR, but it remains an important element hidden in the avant-rock of Dessicant Highs.

The Sentinel has a clear lineage from European Prog and a Theremin feature. Wells tells a story with a meandering prologue and a battle to save the planet. Evanescent Stiction is a groovy Stick piece with trumpet and electronics evoking Miles and Cage.

This collection also includes a piece by New Haven based composer, Nate Trier. An Anarchist Bookclub examines the nature of leaders, followers, cooperatives, and the mob. Be ready to discuss.
